Effective emergency management requires a structured command framework that enables authorities, organisations, and response teams to coordinate resources, communicate clearly, and make timely decisions.

LMA’s Incident Command System (ICS-100) programme introduces the principles of incident command, including standard terminology, command structure, organisational roles, communication, and resource coordination. It explains how ICS supports responses to oil spills, marine casualties, port incidents, offshore emergencies, and other multi-agency events.

Participants gain the knowledge required to operate effectively within an incident management structure and to support coordinated response activities, consistent with the principles of preparedness, cooperation, and resource management under the OPRC 1990 Convention and international frameworks.
