The IMO Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) regime establishes mandatory requirements for managing and improving the operational carbon intensity of ships. Under MARPOL Annex VI, ships of 5,000 gross tonnage and above calculate their annual operational CII and receive an annual rating from A to E.
