Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S) is a highly toxic and flammable gas that can present serious risks in marine, offshore, oil and gas, and industrial environments. Effective awareness of H₂S hazards, exposure risks, detection methods, and emergency response procedures is essential to protect personnel working in areas where H₂S may be present.
The Basic H₂S Training (Non-STCW) programme by LMA provides participants with fundamental knowledge of hydrogen sulfide properties, sources, health effects, detection methods, personal protective equipment, and safe working practices. The programme reflects internationally recognised safety principles and industry requirements, including relevant aspects of the SOLAS Convention, ISM Code emergency preparedness requirements, IMO safety management principles, and recognised occupational health and safety practices. This course enhances personnel awareness and preparedness for working safely in environments where H₂S hazards may exist.
