Incident Command System (ICS-300)

Complex emergency incidents require advanced incident management capabilities, strong leadership, and effective coordination between multiple response organisations. As incidents expand in size and complexity, personnel assigned to senior operational roles must be able to manage resources, develop strategic objectives, coordinate functional sections, and support unified decision-making processes.

The Incident Command System (ICS-300) programme by LMA provides advanced training in incident management for personnel who may assume supervisory, command, or senior coordination roles during complex emergencies. Building upon ICS-100 and ICS-200 principles, the course focuses on advanced ICS organisation, incident planning, resource coordination, operational management, and leadership responsibilities within expanding incidents.

The programme applies advanced ICS concepts to maritime emergency and oil spill crisis management environments, including major vessel casualties, offshore releases, port and terminal emergencies, and large-scale coastal pollution events. It supports internationally recognised emergency preparedness and response principles, including the objectives of the International Convention on Oil Pollution Preparedness, Response and Co-operation (OPRC 1990), while promoting effective coordination between authorities, industry operators, and response organisations.
